Ed is currently the Vice President of the Small Molecules Department at the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) which develops USP documentary standards for prescription and Over-the-Counter (OTC) medicines. Prior to joining USP in 2018, Ed worked for Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals for over 20 years primarily in the area of new drug development. During that time, he contributed to the development and commercialization of both small molecule and biologic drugs. Ed is an analytical chemist by training and holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of California at Riverside and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
