Rob Anderson is Vice President, Global Communications, for USP. In this role, he guides strategic communications initiatives to strengthen relationships with important stakeholder audiences, promote our scientific work and product offerings, and improve understanding of our impact on global health around the world. He oversees teams focused on communications and media relations, digital engagement, marketing and promotions and creative services.
Mr. Anderson brings extensive pharmaceutical and not-for-profit communications experience to his USP leadership role. He most recently served as Executive Vice President at Rabin Martin, a global health management consulting firm where he headed the strategic communications practice for clients in the health, life-science, and philanthropic spaces. Mr. Anderson was previously Managing Director at social change communications firm Fenton and an Executive Vice President at Golin, where he developed groundbreaking corporate responsibility and behavior change initiatives. For a decade, he played an integral role in campaigns to reduce smoking and tobacco use among youth and adults through prevention and smoking cessation programs and clean indoor air initiatives. He was a chief architect of the highly successful “truth” youth smoking prevention campaign. Earlier in his career, Mr. Anderson was a broadcast journalist and a press secretary to the late Florida Governor Lawton Chiles, Jr.
Mr. Anderson earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from Wake Forest University. He serves on the board of the Cross Cultural Healthcare Program and is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
