Safe, Quality Medicines Campaign Launch

USP and partners announce a new campaign to raise awareness of the importance of quality medicines in improving people’s health. The launch took place at the 71st World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. Poor quality medicines threaten to roll back advances that are made in infectious diseases such as Tuberculosis, Malaria and HIV and in non-communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Poor quality medicines also contribute to drug resistance which can make otherwise easily treatable infections deadly.
