Jingzhong (Tim) Guo, Ph.D., is a Scientist at USP. After receiving his degree in Physical Chemistry from Shandong University in China and postdoctoral training at York University in Canada, he started to focus his interests on method development and applications of various analytical technologies. Before joining USP, Dr. Guo worked with several pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies including MethylGene, Boehringer Ingelheim, Novavax and Solid Biosciences. He is the co-author of about 60 publications. In the past 20 years, Dr. Guo has been applying liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry for supporting development of small molecular drugs, protein biomarkers, peptide and protein biotherapeutics, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines and adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy products. His current interest is applying mass spectrometry and other cutting-edge technologies for in-depth characterization of biologic reference standards, analysis of glycosylation heterogeneity and various post-translational modifications (PTM), multi-attribute monitoring (MAM), quantitation of host cell proteins (HCP) and rapid identification of microorganisms in pharmaceuticals.
