Shelley Whiddon is Senior Director, Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement at USP. She leads the Convention and Stakeholder Engagement team within Global External Affairs, ensuring that USP staff remain connected to USP’s Convention Members and other important stakeholders. The Convention, one of USP’s three governing bodies, includes diverse perspectives, expertise, and knowledge; she and her team engage members for input and insights that inform USP’s work and collaboration that helps amplify USP’s voice and advance its mission.
Ms. Whiddon has an extensive background in public health, strategic communications, and stakeholder engagement. Prior to joining USP, Ms. Whiddon led the strategy practice for a business-to-business branding agency where her clients included hospital systems, law firms, and financial services. Ms. Whiddon was previously Group Director of Communications for a branding agency where she helped clients, including USP and the Association for Accessible Medicines, connect with their most important stakeholders. She has worked with pharmaceutical companies, health advocacy organizations, and state and federal government health departments, creating and delivering campaigns that engage audiences on critical public health issues.
Ms. Whiddon has her master’s degree from Florida State University.
