Commenting Policy

We encourage comments and appreciate the time that our readers spend sharing ideas and giving feedback. Thank you for participating. To ensure the discussion is as healthy and helpful as possible, we ask that all contributors adhere to the following policy.

Our goal is to open the discussion to as many individuals as possible, and our intent is to accept the majority of comments submitted. USP may not agree with and does not endorse perspectives expressed through individual comments posted on the blog.

Overview

The purpose of the USP Quality Matters Blog is to encourage diverse and constructive discussion on issues related to global public health; medicine, food and dietary supplement quality; and standards and programs that help ensure access to all of these. Your thoughts, ideas and questions are important to us and will help build an excellent conversation around these topics.

Identification of Commenters

Before you can post a comment, you must login using a social login or your name and email address. Anonymous comments will not be posted – we will only accept comments from people who identify themselves.

Moderated Blog

All comments are moderated, so there will be a delay before they are viewable. We will review and post comments as promptly as possible during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm EST). Comments submitted at other times will be reviewed and posted on the next business day.

Commenting Period

Commenting on a particular blog post shall begin on the date of publication and shall end one (1) year from the date of publication.

Rules of Engagement

For the benefit of robust discussion, we ask that comments remain "on-topic." This means that comments must relate to the topic being discussed in order to remain on the blog, though we retain the right to remove any comment, at any time, in our discretion. In particular, we will remove any comment that displays one or more of the following traits:

  • Irrelevant or off-topic material
  • Spam
  • Personal attacks or threats
  • Obscene, defamatory, profane, or otherwise offensive or inappropriate language
  • Postings soliciting business
  • Promote or endorse services or products. (Note that non-commercial links that are relevant to the topic or another comment are acceptable.)
  • Comments that suggest or encourage illegal or dangerous activity
  • Comments that infringe on copyrights
  • Any software or other materials that contain a virus or other harmful component
  • Spam, junk email, chain letters, duplicative messages, etc.
  • Other information that USP deems inappropriate

We reserve the right to remove or refuse to post any comments that violate this blog commenting policy.  We further reserve the right to terminate this blog, in whole or in part, at any time. If you have any questions on the commenting policy, please contact us.
